SAIGON CITY TOUR (HALF DAY)

This half-day tour will give you an exclusive glimpse of Ho Chi Minh City, its main sights as well as its everyday life. Our experienced and enthusiastic guide will also take you to some of the less touristy districts, take in the sights and smells of this bustling city, and taste some of the best local food the city has to offer.

  • Backpacker streets (District 1), the neighborhood that never sleeps: a brief ride through the area will show you the contrast of old and new, Vietnamese and Western. 
  • Tao Dan park (District 1), a popular morning spot for locals: you will see displays of the elderly locals practicing Tai Chi, bird collectors showcasing their birds in expensive bamboo cages, and you can try authentic Vietnamese coffee.
  • The hidden weapons bunker (District 3): used by communist soldiers as they prepared for the 1975 revolution. 
  • The flower market (District 10): you will see how locals live in small alleys and intricate neighborhoods and enjoy the sweet fragrance of flowers.
  • Cho Lon (District 5): the Chinatown of Saigon where the majority of daily goods trading still takes place. Nearby you can visit an old-fashioned temple and a Chinese herbal medicine street which you can smell it before you enter it. 
  • A spectacular Buddhist pagoda, one of the best kept secrets in town.
  • Riding along the modern canal road which reflects the contrast between District 1 and District 4.

SAIGON CITY TOUR (FULL DAY)

There’s no better way to learn about Ho Chi Minh City than spending a day exploring its famous boulevards and side-streets from the back of a bike. Once known as “the Pearl of the Far East”, this city has a lot to offer, from its bustling streets to quieter neighborhoods, from historic monuments to modern skyscrapers, from its international feel to local daily life. So, be ready to soak up the atmosphere of the dynamic city, and ride with us to some hidden places and try some of the best Vietnamese food and drink along the way.

  • Drive down Saigon’s busy streets just when they are waking up and stop at one of Saigon’s iconic locations, Thich Quang Duc monk statue, to hear the story of one the most emotional moments of the war.
  • The weapon storage bunker: an unusual yet fascinating insight into the history of Saigon. 
  • A quick stop at Saigon’s smoothie and juice “drive-through” shop where you can try a delicious blend of many local tropical fruits.
  • District 5 - Cho Lon - Chinatown of Saigon: discover a vibrant wholesale market where the majority of local daily trading happens. You can find almost everything here.
  • Try “bánh mì” – a delicious Vietnamese baguette with pate, pork, herbs and a kick of fresh chili.
  • Go to District 1 where we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Visit one of the city most famous and most beautiful pagodas: chill out and experience the authentic afternoon Buddhist service.

SAIGON STREET FOOD TOUR

This city is like one giant 24/7 restaurant! There's always something cooking and the nearest eatery is never far away. This trip is designed for anyone, whether a foodie or not, interested in tasting many local dishes and immersing themselves in the local street food culture. As part of this food tour, we will take you around the city, driving by major attractions and visiting the city's most vibrant and dynamic street food areas. As they say, when the sun goes down, things heat up in Ho Chi Minh City. It's definitely a unique way to experience Saigon!

Itinerary

  • Backpacker streets where we will have a short briefing on the evening's schedule.
  • Make our way over to District 4 to see the contrasts of lifestyle of central Saigon and its outer edges.
  • Proceed across another bridge to catch the sunset over the city center with beautiful views of the Saigon river and legendary hotels.
  • Stop at Thu Thiem bridge in District 2 to take photos. Our first food stop will be at a street stall that serves many kinds of BBQ.
  • Crossing District 1 we will make a stop at one of the best meatball bánh mì stands in the city. The baguette is so good that the owner opens at 3pm and usually sells out by 8pm.
  • The next stop is a restaurant that serves traditional Vietnamese dishes, including delicious glutenous rice cakes dressed with peanuts and leafy green seasonings.
  • Crossing over into Chinatown (District 5) we will stop by an 80-year-old institution in Saigon. Here several traditional sweet snacks, everything from sweet custards to fresh fruits in succulent syrup, will be served to sample. It’s a great way to cap off an evening after so many savory delights.
  • From District 5 the trip will take us down the popular shopping street of Nguyen Trai and back to your apartment.

CU CHI TUNNELS (FULL DAY)

The tunnels of Cu Chi, 60 km from HCMC center, are an immense network of connecting tunnels which were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, and were the Viet Cong's base of operations for the Tết Offensive in 1968. Apart from crawling into the tunnels and experiencing what it’s like living underground, you will have the chance to see the authentic local life in the villages and small towns along the way. A combination of culture and history, and an educational and unforgettable experience.

  • Head North-West out of the city. Along the way you will see some amazing countryside, rubber tree plantations, rice fields and the occasional water buffalo.
  • Explore the underground labyrinth of tunnels with our guide giving you an in-depth history of the war and the role that these tunnels played. Learn how thousands of Viet Cong managed to stay underground many days at a time, and used great technique to conceal the smoke from their cooking.
  • The visit of Cu Chi tunnels includes weapon and trap exhibitions, authentic Viet Cong tunnels, different underground bunkers, firing ranges, and more.
  • After all that crawling, you'll appreciate a big traditional Vietnamese meal with a large variety of local dishes, such as barbecue steak, barbecued ribs with lemongrass, fresh spring rolls with beef and a variety of mints, and beef hotpot.

CU CHI TUNNELS – CAO DAI TEMPLE (FULL DAY)

If you ever wondered whether Vietnam has a religion of its own, the answer is yes. It’s Caodaism (in Vietnamese: Cao Đài). If you want to learn more about this religion, this trip is for you. You will also have the chance to refresh your knowledge of the history of the war and crawl around a portion of the famous 121 km long, multiple-layered Cu Chi tunnels. Religion, history, scenery, culture, food, this trip covers it all.

CAN GIO MANGROVE FORESTS (FULL DAY)

Reconnect with nature with our trip to Can Gio, a UNESCO biosphere reserve located in the coastal district 40 kilometers outside of Ho Chi Minh City, making it an ideal destination for a day trip get away, especially by motorbike. Regarded as the “green lungs” of the city, it is lively with mangrove forests and tropical forest life like monkeys, gibbons and crocodiles. On the historical side, it was a very important base for the Viet Cong during the war. Learn about the past while boating through the vast forests and swamp, inhale the fresh air and rediscover the simplicities of life, and enjoy a local meal with fresh seafood to make it an unforgettable experience.

  • Leaving the bustling city of Saigon behind, we head South to Hiep Phuoc port
  • Observe local people and shrimp farms along the way, enjoy scenic views on the way to Rung Sac (mangrove forest) well-known as a Viet Cong base during the war.
  • Take a boat ride along canals naturally covered with mangrove into the Dam Doi (Bat Swamp). 
  • Get on the row boat in the Eco Reserve area. Here you can try fishing for crab.
  • Reach the core of the Biosphere Reserve of Vam Sat forest where we will visit the crocodile farm and bird reserve.
  • Delicious seafood lunch and rest
  • Learn how to walk cross the Cau Khi (Monkey bridge made of 1 or 2 single bamboos poles) as locals do. You cannot miss the panoramic view from the Tang Bong tower. It’s great for photos.
  • In the afternoon, a speed boat takes us back to Rung Sac, we then hop back on motorbikes to Can Gio beach to visit the lively local seafood market. 
  • The ride back to Ho Chi Minh city via the ferry gives an interesting experience on how to use the local transportation.

MEKONG DELTA

Mekong delta, the “rice bowl” of Vietnam, is carpeted in a dizzying variety of greens and numerous rivers with floating houses and markets. This trip, led by our experienced local guides, brings you into the heart of the delta, cruising along the mighty Mekong with hundreds of jungle-shaded canals, streams and wide waterways, exploring fishing villages, exotic fruit farms, and the fascinating way of life of Southern Vietnamese people. You will also enjoy a lunch of traditional Mekong Delta dishes and sample local specialties along the way.

Itinerary

  • Head towards a local Vietnamese shop for an authentic breakfast.
  • Drive to the Mekong Delta.
  • Arrive at the Mekong Delta and board a private boat to explore different islands along the river.
  • Visit local industries including a traditional brick factory which still uses traditional methods, a straw mat weaving house, a coconut processing plant where you can try yummy coco candies and/ or a floating fish farm where villagers cultivate freshwater fish and shrimp, and honey farm. Here a river boat is your taxi.
  • You will get to taste all sorts of local flavors for lunch and enjoy fresh coconuts, and siesta on hammocks. This is what life in the Mekong Delta is all about.
  • Get back on the river on a small rowing boat. Enjoy the peaceful countryside as you pass through the palm-tree lined canals.
  • Towards the end, our boat will pick us up again and we will cruise back to the jetty in Ben Tre town, the coconut kingdom.
  • Drive back to Saigon.
